FAQs

Q.   What do I get when I fly the Tailwheel Endorsement Package with Taildraggers?
A.   You get the Tailwheel Endorsement in your log book required by FAR 61.31.
You also get a fresh BFR required by FAR 61.56.
You get a great, fun flying experience.

Q.   What tailwheel airplanes will I be endorsed to fly?
A.   Your endorsement will read "competent to act as PIC in tailwheel airplanes."
That means all of them that you are otherwise licensed to fly.

Q.   Can I really fly "any" tailwheel airplane after getting my endorsement?
A.   You will be taught the principles of flying tailwheel airplanes.  These principles will apply
essentially to all tailwheel airplanes.  However, each tailwheel model has its own set of flight
characteristics.  As a matter of common sense, you should become familiar with the flight
characteristics of any aircraft you have never flown before (tailwheel or tricycle landing gear)
      before flying it.

Q.   Do I get a Biennial Flight Review also?
A.   Yes.  Good for another 24 months.

Q.   Can I get the endorsement in one day?
A.   Yes.  Most patrons should expect to reach a level of competency that will
achieve the endorsement in five to six hours total ground and flight time.

Q.   What should I bring?
A.   Bring your log book.  Wear comfortable clothing and soft, thin-soled shoes.

Come prepared to have some fun!
